ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE

LAREDO BORDER CHAPTER API

The Laredo Border Chapter API is a service-oriented organization that was chartered in 1982 by local oil field service companies and a local independent operator.

The Laredo Border Chapter API’s goal is to raise funds for scholarships and to promote education, well-being, and success in today’s youth.

API chapters promote fellowship and professional development of their members through the exchange of operational experience, operations oriented meeting programs, and a variety of educational, industry service and community service projects.

These efforts promote a professional and civic minded industry image in chapter communities.  The chapters are non-commercial, non-discriminatory, and do not endorse or financially support political parties or candidates.  To avoid inadvertent conflicts, the chapters do not independently develop or promote positions on public issues, but often provide forums for discussion of such issues.

HISTORY

MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

January 21, 2017

Since being incorporated in 1982, the Laredo Border Chapter API has been an oilfield-driven, non-profit organization raising money for our chapter’s scholarship fund. Through those 34 years of hard work and determination, we have raised funds to help numerous children complete their educational dreams. We also support our local/regional fairs, food banks and other non-profit organizations as good ambassadors to our local communities.

We continue our annual events which are the Team Roping and BBQ Cook Off, Bass Tournament and BBQ Cook Off and Golf Tournament. All the money raised from these 3 events is used to fund the Laredo Border Chapter API scholarship program. All scholarship applicants must meet our specified criteria. This criterion is set and is required by the Laredo Border Chapter by-laws and scholarship committee.

Last year, the Laredo Border Chapter API awarded $52,000 dollars in scholarships to over 50 local and regional children around South Texas. Our scholarship program would be impossible without your support and participation.

As we prepare for our 2017 annual events (Roping & BBQ Cook Off/ BASS Tournament & BBQ Cook Off/Golf Tournament), we are asking for your support in ways of sponsorships, donations, contributions and event participation.

Our chapter is made up of a great team of officers, committee members and volunteers that donate their time and effort to put together some great events. Please help us continue the dreams of all these South Texas children.

We hope to see you in 2017! May God Bless the oilfield and us all!

Best Regards,

Robert Chavez
